puppy pack adventures
news, alumni newsfive children’s stories detailing travel adventures with their dogs have been written by wadham alumni esther dingley and dan colegate.
For the past six years Dan (Chemistry, 2000) and Esther (Economics & Management, 2001) have been touring Europe in a camper-van enjoying an alternative way of life.
it was while travelling in spain that they found an abandoned dog who they adopted and named leela.
said esther: “we instantly became a very contented travelling trio. but bedraggled and very skinny little leela was hiding a big surprise. the vets gave us a few days warning and a difficult decision but soon bella, george, rose, pati, teddy and jess arrived!” the couple committed to raising them, finding good homes for teddy and jess but keeping four of the puppies in addition to mum leela.
each dog is featured in its own joy-filled story, illustrated by kim prior, and written for children of all ages. titles include poorly pati and the friendly ghost; clever rose and the mucky beach; and lovely leela finds a family.
the heart-warming stories are designed to show children that there is always a way to help others.
